Our design team has worked at perfecting this wheel set for the past two years, incorporating Zipp's VCLC technology (vibration dampening) and proprietary M2CM (co-molding) within the same disc. A highly refined carbon skin crafted from uni-directional fiber covers a Nomex honeycomb core while incorporating a hollow bulge at the disc outside to ensure optimal laminar air flow and reduce resistance.
This wheel set performs best at wind directions between 10 and 20 degrees of yaw, where traditional discs can cause significant turbulence. The Zipp clincher disc is aerodynamically optimized for tires between 19 and 23mm wide and requires no rim tape.
This wheel set is also available as a Clydesdale to accommodate the heavier rider in comfort.
